At the end of the month, the federal government will shut down if the Republicans don’t find seven Democratic senators to vote for their budget.

Let me be clear: I won’t be one of those seven.

I will not be a vote to rubber stamp more of the Republicans’ harmful policies. I’ll explain more, but if you’re with me in this fight to stand up for working families and stop the GOP’s radical agenda, I hope I can count on you to join me today in condemning the Republicans’ plan and demanding action on health care and tariffs. From brewpub owner to Mayor of Denver to Governor of Colorado, my entire career has been about bringing people together and finding ways to actually help Coloradans.

But Donald Trump and National Republicans aren’t trying to work together. They’re trying to ram through their agenda – and it’s hurting too many people.

Right now, prices are increasing and families are struggling to get by. Instead of helping lower prices, Republicans passed their so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” that rips away health care from tens of thousands of Coloradans and forces premiums to skyrocket — all to give new tax breaks to the ultrawealthy.

When I was Governor, I expanded Medicaid to cover 400,000 more Coloradans. That’s what the Republicans are now taking away. I won’t agree to that. Ever.

Plus, Trump’s illegal tariffs are taxing working families thousands of dollars every year and making it near impossible for small businesses to survive. The courts have ruled that it is Congress’ authority to impose tariffs and these tariff-taxes are illegal. We need to stand up and take that power back from Trump.

If Republicans want to avoid a shutdown, they should restore the health care and nursing home care funding and support for rural hospitals that they voted to rip away, and take action to end the tariffs.

If they won’t negotiate, I’ll vote against their government funding plan.

This is not a moment that any of us can be silent. We need to make our voices heard loud and clear. So if you’re with me – if you agree we need to put Colorado’s families above billionaires and partisan politics – sign your name next to mine today. [[link removed]]
