 NJYD SEPTEMBER 2025 NEWSLETTER!

We are excited to share important information and upcoming events with you! Please see below for information on events, highlights, and updates.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

This month, starting September 15th to October 15th, we honor the history, culture, and countless contributions of the Hispanic and Latino Community here in New Jersey and across the nation.

Hispanic and Latino leaders have been at the forefront of progress — fighting for equality, building strong communities, and shaping the future of our democracy. But as we honor these contributions, we must also acknowledge the reality: the current presidential administration continues to push policies that unfairly target and harm members of these communities — from attacks on immigrant rights to rolling back protections that family rely on. These actions stand in stark contrast to the values of inclusion, dignity, and fairness that we fight for every day.

At NJYD, we are committed to uplifting Hispanic and Latino voices, defending our communities from harmful policies, and working toward a future where every New Jerseyan can thrive.

September Young Dem of the Month

Congratulations to our September Young Dem of the Month, Isaiah Gomez! Isaiah is a Perth Amboy Board of Education Member, award-winning media professional, and Chair of the New Jersey Young Democrats Latino Caucus. In this role, he leads statewide efforts to empower and engage young Latino voters, while also serving as Communications Director for the Middlesex County Young Democrats.

Isaiah is a proud graduate of Montclair State University’s School of Communication and Media and is currently pursuing his Master of Public Administration at Kean University. Professionally, Isaiah is the Media Content Specialist for Middlesex County Magnet Schools, where he produces digital content across five campuses to connect with students, families, and residents.

Isaiah is deeply committed to expanding access to education, uplifting Latino voices, and using digital media to inform and inspire communities across New Jersey. We are so excited to have him as part of our NJYD team, and look forward to seeing all the wonderful work he will accomplish! Congrats, again, to Isaiah!
