Dear John,
In the past week, we've seen a lot of rhetoric in the wake of the Charlie
Kirk assassination. And as an organization, we want to be crystal clear:
Violence is never the answer. It is NOT the way to fix corruption or
broken politics. It only makes everything worse.
As our CEO, Maria McFarland Sánchez-Moreno, has [ [link removed] ]witnessed firsthand,
political violence doesn't solve problems. It escalates into nightmare
scenarios. It tears countries apart, it kills too many, and it leaves
lasting scars.
Instead, we need to double down on democracy. Most Americans, regardless
of political affiliation, still believe in the rule of law, checks and
balances, freedom, fairness, and due process. We need to use our power as
voters and citizens to demand real leadership in the face of escalating
tensions.
Violence will never fix what's broken. But together, we can build a future
that works for every American.
