Content warning: This email discusses violence and harmful practices against women and girls.

“I was beaten and left to die,” said Fatuma, a child bride who sought safety at a shelter after her husband abused her relentlessly.

In Fatuma’s community, and many others across South Sudan, girls are treated as property, valued for the income they bring during marriage negotiations, and silenced when those marriages result in abuse.

“My partner’s family always reminded me about the cows they gave to my family. That was the price of my silence,” she told UNFPA, the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency.

In South Sudan, amidst the turmoil of conflict, countless women and girls like Fatuma endure unimaginable suffering.

UNFPA is dedicated to providing the safety and support women and girls in South Sudan need to heal and rebuild. This work requires your help. Will you be there for women and girls living through one of the world’s most neglected crises and make a lifesaving gift today?

Women and girls in South Sudan face overlapping dangers of prolonged conflict: cattle raiding, displacement from climate shocks, and child marriage. Widespread displacement exposes women and girls to rape, exploitation, underage pregnancy, and abuse.

Our teams are on the ground offering vital medical care, psychological support, and resources to help women and girls regain their dignity and independence.

Your contribution today can fund safe spaces where survivors find solace and support. It can give women and girls access to essential health services and vocational training for economic empowerment.

Amid a global shortage in humanitarian funds, your gift could be a lifeline.

Your gift can bring lifesaving care to women in South Sudan and beyond who have been deeply affected by violence. Please consider making a donation to sustain this crucial work today:

MAKE A LIFESAVING GIFT

Together, we can heal the wounds of violence and forge a safer, brighter future for countless women and girls. Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
