Every year, millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, don’t update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register. Voters must register or update their registration for reasons such as moving to a new address, turning 18, becoming a citizen, or changing their name.
Your vote is powerful, but your voice goes even further. You can be the person in your circle who makes sure everyone is ready to cast their ballot in your community.
Here’s a simple step to take: forward this email to five friends and remind them to check their registration. Think of: - Some who just turned 18 (or knows people who did!)
- Friends who recently moved
- College students voting on campus
- Anyone who changed their name (marriage, etc)
Honestly, everyone should double-check. It takes two minutes, and it could mean the difference between getting the chance to vote or not.
Whether you’re at the dinner table, in a group chat, or hanging out after class — your reminder could be the nudge that makes all the difference. Our democracy is strongest when every single person shows up. Thank you for being the kind of person who helps make that happen.
