We want to bring this to your attention, John.
Some of the most defining races for our climate movement this year aren’t happening in Congress.
They’re happening at the state and local levels — from state legislatures to county offices and utility commissions. Too many elected officials have let fossil fuel companies get away with too much for too long, but that's exactly why we lean on you a bit more on days like today.
Because when everyday people chip in $5, $10, or $25, it adds up to real power — power that fossil fuel executives and their lobbyists can’t match, power that can literally tip the balance in these down-ballot races.
John, can we count on you to chip in a few dollars to fuel JanePAC’s work and deliver climate victories where they matter most? With just 49 days until Election Day, your donation has never been more important. >>>
We want to highlight four down-ballot races this November that could shape state-level climate policy for years to come, and every one of these JanePAC-endorsed candidates needs our grassroots movement at their back.
🌍 Alicia Johnson — Georgia Public Service Commission
Alicia has nearly 30 years of experience in public service and economic justice. She knows what Georgia families are up against: skyrocketing power bills, dirty energy, and utilities rigging the system for profit. Public service commissioners rarely get the spotlight, but they hold enormous power over utilities — and energy monopolies are watching closely because they know Alicia will push for clean energy investments and fair rates that put people first.
⚖️ Joe Khan — Bucks County District Attorney, Pennsylvania
As a County Solicitor, Joe went toe-to-toe with corporate giants: suing 3M and DuPont for PFAS contamination and stopping Republicans from repealing the fracking ban. Now he’s running for DA in Pennsylvania’s largest swing county — where Trump won by just 291 votes last year. Defeating the GOP incumbent there could shape the balance of power in one of the most consequential states in the country.
🌱 Justin Crosby — Mississippi State House, District 22
Justin co-founded an organization to expand financial literacy and break down economic barriers. In the legislature, he will prioritize clean energy economic opportunities, oppose new fossil fuel infrastructure, and push to grow a clean energy workforce — critical steps in a state where fossil fuel interests have long dominated the agenda.
☀️ Dr. Johnny DuPree — Mississippi State Senate, District 45
As mayor of Hattiesburg, Johnny built Mississippi’s first solar farm, installed EV chargers after Hurricane Katrina, and tried to convert city vehicles to electric despite resistance. In the State Senate, he is committed to preventing new fossil fuel infrastructure and holding polluters accountable — a pivotal fight in one of the nation’s most fossil-fuel-entrenched states.

These aren’t the races you’ll see plastered across cable news. But the truth is, the offices our candidates are running for often have more direct impact on whether families can afford energy bills, whether polluters are held accountable, and whether our communities get real investments in clean energy.
Every dollar you give to JanePAC today will go directly into electing more climate champions like Alicia, Joe, Justin, and Johnny. So, can we count on your grassroots donation today? Together, we can defeat fossil fuel interests where they least expect it — at the state and local level.
