MUSTANG, Okla. –– In the wake of the assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor candidate Brian Hill issued the following statement, urging a renewed commitment to America’s youth.
“The tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk is a sobering reminder of the pain and brokenness facing our nation. As a former youth minister and longtime mentor through the Oklahoma House of Representatives’ Page program, I have seen firsthand the struggles our young people are facing in this modern age. My heart aches for the loss of life, and my prayers are with Charlie’s family and all who are grieving.
“Grief must move us to action. Across America, we are witnessing a troubling pattern: our young people are turning to violence. These are not isolated incidents, they are symptoms of deeper issues in our nation that demand our attention. As leaders, we cannot look away.
“We must redouble our efforts to support and guide our youth, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. That means strengthening families, fostering mentorship, investing in mental health, and creating opportunities for young people to flourish.
