We're Rallying for a Clean Energy Future Nationwide
The clean energy revolution is happening. Jobs in clean energy are growing faster than in any other sector. The only problem? Fossil fuel interests and the Trump administration are fighting back. They're spending millions to slow our progress and protect polluter profits.
That's why changemakers nationwide are coming together for Sun Day ☀️ this Sunday, September 21, to celebrate our clean energy progress and call for accelerating the transition.

The EPA Should Protect People, Not Polluters
Right now, Trump's Environmental Protection Agency is trying to cut its own power to stop greenhouse gas emissions by eliminating the long-standing endangerment finding. These environmental protections are critical to protecting the people and places we love. They safeguard our communities from wildfires, floods, and other unnatural disasters. And they keep pollution out of our air and water. The EPA works for us. We are the ones who should be calling the shots.
We must demand they do their job and follow the science, not the agenda of the corporate polluters who bought access to Trump.

Public Lands Are on the Line
Just out from Sierra's Fall 2025 issue: a critical look at the impact of new policies that could take public lands away from people and turn them over to private corporations. The new regs, which would exclude the public from commenting and expand industry in protected spaces, are unlike anything public land managers have ever seen.
Here's what's at stake as they face a barrage of threats that could change public lands for decades to come.

This Is How Climate Change Transformed a Maryland Neighborhood
Thirty years ago, scientists and journalists had to travel to the Arctic or Australia's Great Barrier Reef to see the early impacts of global warming up close. Now, after oil, coal, and gas combustion dumped 900 more gigatons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the impacts can be witnessed everywhere.
One writer considers how the changing canopy of his suburban community in Maryland reflects the threat of a warming world.

The Fight Over Data Centers
Trump has made winning the AI race, and specifically beating China, a central focus of his administration. This past summer, he issued an executive order that could make federal lands available for the construction of data centers, as well as electrical and gas lines and electrical substations.
Now, some worry that data centers could burden an already strained energy grid, leading to a much greater risk of blackouts as well as higher costs for utility customers.
