Friend,
The loudest and most divisive voices want to pit us against each other. They want us to believe we have to choose whose values matter, or whose worth protecting.
But I know in my heart there are way more good people than bad. And that our best days as Americans are when we work together to solve problems, not rip each other apart over our differences.
That’s why I am particularly dismayed by my Republican colleague, Derrick Van Orden, threatening to withhold all federal funds, grants, and community projects from his own constituents.
Think about that. The roads our neighbors drive on, the schools our kids learn in, the clinics families rely on, and Van Orden wants to gut them, just to score political points on social media.
That’s the difference in Congress. While Van Orden would rather rip opportunities away from our region, his Democratic opponent Rebecca Cooke is working to deliver for our communities.
Running campaigns rooted in solutions isn’t “sexy.” It won’t grab headlines like threatening to withhold federal funding from your own neighbors. And in districts like ours, the far right confuses decency for weakness. That’s why national Republicans are already targeting us with nasty, misleading attacks.
This FEC deadline isn’t just our chance to fully fund a winning campaign, it's an opportunity to send a message about decency vs. division:
So friend, with this deadline looming, can I count on you to donate $5 to me and Rebecca Cooke’s campaign to unseat Derrick Van Orden in WI-03? Any amount sends an important message about the future we are striving for and believe in.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you,
-Eric
