Dear John,
Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate culture, resilience, and community, and to address the disparities that still exist in women’s heart health.
Hispanic women are more likely to face risk factors like diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure, yet are less likely to receive timely diagnosis and treatment. Language barriers, provider bias, and lack of access to preventive care make it harder to get the help they need.
As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re proud to announce the launch of Hermanas de Corazón, a virtual support group en español for women living with heart disease. Led by three inspiring WomenHeart Champions, this group will meet monthly and offer a safe space to share experiences, build community, and support one another.
📅 First meeting: Wednesday, September 18 at 7 PM ET | 4 PM PT
📍 Meets the third Wednesday of each month

Playing With Heart
Next Friday, September 19, WomenHeart is stepping up to the plate at Busch Stadium in St. Louis for something truly special.
We’re excited to partner with Merck and the St. Louis Cardinals for Playing With Heart, a community initiative focused on LDL cholesterol and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).
Join us at Busch Stadium for a day of education and action. Stop by the WomenHeart booth for free heart health resources and support, and don’t miss the ceremonial first pitch with Adam Wainwright and Sierra Kile, honoring the legacy of Darryl Kile, who passed away from a heart attack at age 33.
