 
Let me get right to it, John: You probably know by now that every three months, our campaign is required to publicly report how much we’ve been able to raise to the Federal Election Commission (FEC). There’s an extra challenge for us, because unlike many campaigns, we don’t lean on dark money donations to carry us. We are counting on support from individual donors to power our efforts.
On the phones, in town halls, or just meeting folks on the street, voters ask me the same thing: with all the negative headlines that fly in every week, why do I even want to be in Congress?!? And my answer is always the same: because the work is too important. Because each of you – and our country – is worth fighting for. That’s why every action I take is grounded in the needs of this community -- whether it’s fighting for dignified wages and a public health option, or defending ballot box access, reproductive freedoms and the rights of our LGBTQ friends and family from far-right attacks. If we want CA-30 to lead the way—and bring California values to the forefront of leadership in Washington—we’ll need strong grassroots support to build the national coalition that can make it happen. So I have to ask: There's a lot of work ahead of us, and I’m so grateful to have you by my side. Onward! Laura
