In just the past few weeks, I’ve visited organizations across Philadelphia to highlight major federal investments I secured to help them better serve our community.
That includes $750,000 for the Urban League of Greater Philadelphia to open a new North Philadelphia office, expanding access to housing counseling, job training, health services, and small-business support for thousands of residents; $1,000,000 for Caring for Friends to build a cold-storage facility that will rescue and distribute up to 10 million pounds of food each year—ensuring families don’t go hungry even as Trump’s Big Bill for Billionaires cuts SNAP for 143,000 Pennsylvanians; and $1.1 million for Congreso de Latinos Unidos to make long-overdue accessibility upgrades, so more families can benefit from education, workforce development, health care, and housing services.
Each of these investments strengthen our neighborhoods, expand opportunity, and make sure no one in Philadelphia is left behind.
These investments give Philadelphians the tools to keep strengthening our neighborhoods. In recent years, I’ve delivered more than $670 million to improve our city and its infrastructure — and I’ll never stop fighting for the Philadelphia we deserve.
Sincerely,
