*Fall and Pollinators webinar*

The Environmental Quality Board in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Education, the Xerces Society, Metro Blooms, and the University of Minnesota Bee Lab will present a “Fall and Pollinators” webinar. Attendees will learn why the fall season is a critical time for pollinators preparing to survive the winter, how wild pollinators survive cold winters, and actions we can take to help them overwinter successfully.

*Project description: *This AUAR study area encompasses an area totaling approximately 403 acres on 28 parcels in the City of Hermantown, St. Louis County, Minnesota. The study area is bounded to the north by Morris Thomas Road, to the east by Midway Road, and to the west by Solway Road. The southern boundary of the study area extends parallel to Saint Louis River Road, approximately 0.25 miles to the north. One development scenario is proposed to be evaluated in the AUAR. The development scenario includes multiple buildings totaling 1.8 million square feet of proposed light industrial development.

*Project description: *The AUAR study area encompasses an area totaling approximately 251 acres on 5 parcels in the City of Cannon Falls and Randolph Township, Goodhue and Dakota Counties, Minnesota. MNLCO Dakota County Two, LLC & MNLCO Dakota County Three, LLC is proposing to develop the study area from existing farmland to industrial or technology park uses. Two scenarios are proposed for evaluation in the AUAR. Scenario 1 includes multiple buildings for a total of 1,750,000 square feet of a proposed industrial development. Scenario 2 includes multiple buildings for a total of 1,750,000 square feet of technology park. The proposed development within the AUAR study area is anticipated to begin construction in 2026.

Notice of Final Permit Decision for the Snowshoe BESS Project in Olmsted County, Minnesota

*Notice description: *The Public Utilities Commission In the Matter of the Application of Snowshoe BESS, LLC for a Site Permit for the up to 150-Megawatt Snowshoe Battery Energy Storage System in Olmsted County, Minnesota - Public Utilities Commission Docket No. IP7138/ESS-24-279. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in an order issued on August 14, 2025, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission: (1) Adopted the ALJ's Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law, and Recommendations; (2) Found that the environmental assessment prepared by the Department of Commerce and the record created at the public hearing addressed the issues identified in the scoping decision; (3) and Issued to Snowshoe BESS LLC a site permit for an up to 150- Megawatt solar energy generating system.

Minnesota Duty Officer reports pertaining to fish kills are summarized in the following table, in accordance with 103G.216, REPORTING FISH KILLS IN PUBLIC WATERS, Subd. 2 Reporting Requirement. These reports were received via the Minnesota Duty Officer prior to the submission deadline for this edition of the EQB Monitor. They represent the raw data/information provided by callers. For more information regarding fish kills in Minnesota see the Department of Natural Resources [ [link removed] ]. Call the Minnesota Duty Officer at 651‐649‐5451 or 800‐422‐0798 to report fish kills.
