Hi friend,
Concern about crime is high, and people from coast to coast are looking for real solutions.
Here’s the good news: there is a range of community-based public safety programs proven to reduce crime and violence and increase well being and safety in vulnerable communities
Here’s the bad news: many of these very programs have been underinvested in, and many recently experienced drastic federal funding cuts.
We’re trying to change that.
Alliance for Safety and Justice (the parent organization of Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice) has teamed up with the Community-Based Public Safety Collective to launch Scaling Safety - a new initiative to deliver deep investment into proven community-based public safety programs to five cities to save lives, heal neighborhoods, and lay the foundation for a new approach to public safety.
You can learn more about this critical work directly from our friend and co-lead of Scaling Safety- Aqeela Sherrills, by checking out his recently released TED Talk, to learn how together we can stop crises from becoming crime.
Watch Aqeela’s TED Talk here, and share it with five friends looking for inspiration on new approaches to public safety. [[link removed]]
