Hi John --
BREAKING: OPEN PRIMARIES ARE UNDER ATTACK IN TEXAS AND
OHIO.
We need support right now to help fund campaigns to ensure primaries stay open and
millions of Americans aren’t disenfranchised overnight.
DONATE
NOW,
THE DETAILS:
- TEXAS: The Republican
Party of Texas filed a federal lawsuit against Texas Secretary of State Jane
Nelson in a bid to restrict participation in the GOP’s primary
elections to only voters registered with the party. Texas does not
have partisan voter registration. Enacting a closed primary would
require every voter in the state to re-register to
vote.
-
OHIO: The Republican
Party of Ohio has introduced House Bill 320, it would mean that for the May 2026
primaries, voters have to declare their party affiliation by or on
Feb. 4th, 2026 or they cannot
vote in the primaries.
These partisan attacks are coordinated efforts to remove
American voters from our election processes. And we’re the only
national organization jumping in to defend voters.
Last year we successfully defeated
closed primary efforts in Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri, and Utah.
Over the last 2 years we’ve ensured that over 10 million Americans
maintained their right to fully participate in every step of the
process.
Can you make a special contribution
TODAY to our defensive efforts to keep Texas and Ohio’s primaries open
for ALL voters?
