Unlike the fast, direct journeys of spring, their autumn routes are slower and more winding, exposing birds to environmental hazards for longer periods. Add deforestation, climate change, and other human-driven threats, and it becomes even harder for species like the Black-throated Blue Warbler to safely reach their breeding and wintering grounds—putting entire populations at risk.
