That’s why this mid-month fundraising deadline is so critical.
If we don’t hit our goal, we’ll be forced to scale back outreach in communities that most need to hear our message. We simply cannot afford to fall short.
Here’s what we’re fighting for – and what your support powers:
Healthcare where we live. Mickell will open neighborhood walk-in clinics so families don’t have to choose between delaying care or crowding emergency rooms. He’ll expand mental health and addiction treatment so people get help before they end up in jail.
Strong schools. He will push for school-based mental health counselors in every Shelby County school, expand apprenticeship and technical training programs, and fight for real upgrades to outdated school buildings.
Good jobs. He’ll reward businesses that hire from underserved zip codes, create second-chance workforce programs for returning citizens, and push to bring new green-tech industries that grow our economy without leaving communities behind.
Public safety with accountability. Mickell will replace the crumbling 201 Poplar jail with a modern facility focused on rehabilitation, job training, and mental health services—because safer communities come from breaking cycles, not repeating them.
This campaign is about us – all of us – demanding better and building a Shelby County that works for every family. But to do it, we have to show strength today.
