One Night Only: ‘Chasing Roo’ with Oscar-Nominated Director Skye Fitzgerald

Dear friend,

You know that we’ve been campaigning to stop the commercial killing of kangaroos in their native habitats in Australia. And you also know that we’ve run the table with all major global athletic shoe companies pledging to stop sourcing kangaroo skins for their athletic shoes. Nike, Adidas, Puma, New Balance, and others have issued statements to that effect in response to our Kangaroos Are Not Shoes campaign.

That’s monumental progress. But it’s not the end of the story.

There still remains a corps of commercial shooters desperate to find other markets for the skins they take from kangaroos and to keep the killing going.

During the course of our campaign, we learned that Oscar- and Emmy-nominated director Skye Fitzgerald was taking his keen eye and his lens into the field to understand the behavior and psychology of people involved in this trade in Australia.

His new documentary, “Chasing Roo,” is now being streamed on Amazon and other global platforms. He’s giving us a unique opportunity to screen it for you at no cost. It’s a 34-minute documentary, so it fits neatly within our regular webinar formula.

We have another special offering: filmmaker Skye Fitzgerald will join us for a Q&A, alongside Jennifer Skiff and me, as we lead the campaign to end the kangaroo trade.

Reserve your seat today.

This exclusive online event that will take you into the heart of this controversy and give you a perspective that will produce a deeper, richer understanding of this issue.

You’ll hear from us about our efforts in Congress to take the campaign to the next stage, including working with U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth and Cory Booker to advance the kangaroo protection act.
