Over 75 days ago, extremist MAGA Republicans in our state legislature did the unthinkable: they made a vote or official act by an elected official punishable by law.
That’s right — they pushed through an unconstitutional bill that threatened to jail elected officials simply for representing their constituents and voting their conscience. Even Tennessee’s radical Republican Attorney General thought it was unconstitutional!
But let’s be clear — this wasn’t a mistake. It was the plan. When you’re drunk on power, you think it is a crime for anyone to disagree with you. When your ideas are so unpopular, you have to try and rig the system.
And while the recent jobs report unveiled the truth about the GOP’s devastating economic policies, Willie Lamberth clearly does not care. He is too busy pushing his own radical agenda instead of showing up to fight for working Tennesseans.
