Friend,

Should Congress take away your state’s authority to protect you and your family from toxic pesticides?

That’s exactly what Section 453 of the House Environmental Protection Agency funding bill would do – and it’s OUTRAGEOUS. This pesticide industry wish list would silence you, states, local communities and even the courts, all to protect corporate profits.

Here’s what Section 453 would do:

•
Block state and local pesticide safeguards. States often move faster than the EPA, which reviews pesticide safety only once every 15 years – if that. Section 453 would effectively strip states’ authority to act.
•
Shield pesticide companies from lawsuits. If the EPA has approved a pesticide label, manufacturers couldn’t be sued – even if new science shows serious health risks or if the approval was based on flawed data
•
Leave vulnerable communities at risk. Farmers, workers, children and families near sprayed fields would lose vital protections.

This has nothing to do with protecting public health. It’s about protecting the profits of pesticide companies, which have poured millions into lobbying to weaken oversight.

We need to hear from you:

Thanks for your input, friend.
