** “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”

EPHESIANS 4:11-12

Dear John

Do you sense the extraordinary movement of God's Spirit across Africa today? While our news headlines often focus on conflict and crisis, something remarkable is happening—the church in Africa is experiencing unprecedented growth, with millions coming to faith in Christ.

Earlier this year, 47 students gathered in Kigali. Eyes wide, Bibles open, hearts ready. Among them was Pastor Dan Ruzindana from the Presbyterian Church Rwanda, whose life has been transformed by learning to teach God's Word through the Preliminary Theological Certificate (PTC).

PTC is a course that aims to give students a solid introduction to the biblical, theological, and historical foundations of the Christian faith. Through PTC, we’ve trained hundreds of pastors in Africa to deepen their knowledge of God’s word and give them the skills to faithfully teach it to others.

We know this is of crucial importance, as we read in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

Pastor Dan shares: "Attending the course opened my eyes to the richness of God's love, mercy, and grace. The message of the Bible became more than words; it became a living assurance of salvation through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection."

But Dan's transformation didn't stop there. After completing PTC, he returned to his church with renewed passion and biblical clarity. His preaching became more grounded in Scripture, his teaching more confident, and his ministry more fruitful. Dan now leads Bible studies that have grown from a handful of people to more than 50 regular attendees. He's training other lay leaders in his church, multiplying the impact of his PTC education throughout his community.

As Rev. Stephen Liggins from Springwood Anglican Church, who teaches in the program, reflects: "It is a privilege to assist them in this way, and the benefits flow both ways. I learn a lot from them in terms of Christian commitment, prayer, hospitality and outreach, as well as simply enjoying the fellowship."

Yet here lies the urgent challenge: the church in Africa is large and growing, but many pastors and evangelists lack formal theological training. They hunger to understand Scripture more deeply and teach with biblical accuracy, but the resources to meet that need are limited.

This is where PTC makes a difference. ([link removed])

Established in 2003 as a partnership between African Enterprise and Moore Theological College, PTC is delivered by experienced Anglican ministers from Australia who travel to Africa to equip local pastors and evangelists. The program covers six core subjects—all designed to help church leaders faithfully preach and multiply the gospel in their communities.

Since 2020, more than 2,500 students have enrolled in PTC across Africa. Each graduate returns to their community equipped to "entrust God's Word to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others" (2 Timothy 2:2). This isn't just education—it's multiplication. When we train one pastor, we're potentially impacting hundreds or even thousands of lives as that training spreads through their ministry.

John, will you help send the Word to fertile soil? ([link removed])

Your gift can help train students in PTC, multiplying the gospel across entire communities and nations. With your support, we can continue bringing this vital theological education to church leaders across Africa who are eager to grow in their understanding and proclamation of God's Word.

Would you consider making a donation to support PTC? Your partnership makes it possible for pastors like Dan to be thoroughly equipped for ministry, creating ripple effects of gospel impact that extend far beyond the classroom.

Thank you for prayerfully considering this request, and for your continued faithful support of African Enterprise.
