That’s not just unethical—it’s corrupt. Trump is literally using the presidency as a business opportunity—and it’s far from the first time.
Trump has turned public service into his own personal profit center for years—pocketing billions from his businesses, foreign deals and now cryptocurrency. But this latest grift takes it to a whole new level.

Again and again, we’ve seen Trump and his family profit massively off the presidency.
CREW has spent countless hours tracking and calculating those profits, and found that Trump made more than $1.6 billion in outside revenue during his first term.
And a new tally by The New Yorker suggests that the total for both of Trump’s terms is a jaw-dropping $3.4 billion.
This astounding amount has no historical equivalent. While other presidents made millions from things like book deals after they left office, Trump has made billions— while still in office.
Instead of taking steps to address conflicts like putting assets in a blind trust, like every other recent president, Trump has doubled down—expanding his businesses into social media, crypto and new international deals. He even hosted a dinner for investors who bought his meme coin.
This unethical behavior has added to Trump’s unprecedented corruption. It’s unacceptable and it’s dangerous.
It puts every American at risk when foreign governments, wealthy insiders and industry giants can buy access and influence in our government by padding Trump’s bank account.
