More than 84,000 MoveOn members have signed a petition demanding that Trump and Republicans release the Epstein files. Will you add your name?
Dear MoveOn member,
Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress continue trying to redirect and distract from the Epstein files. Last week, Senate Republicans shut down Democrats' efforts that would have forced a public release of case files.1 But recent email exchanges and a 238-page "birthday book" have drawn even more attention to the case, adding to the already rampant scrutiny and suspicions about what—and whom—Republicans are hiding.
Jeffrey Epstein committed heinous crimes for decades, shielded by his power and wealth and aided and abetted by close co-conspirators like Ghislaine Maxwell. The American people deserve transparency into who else was involved. And we are not going to let anybody—no matter how much money or influence they have—sweep this under the rug.
We need to keep the heat on Trump and Republicans and make it clear that the public's calls to release the Epstein files are not waning. Add your name to the petition to help us exceed 100,000 signatures!
When they were dating back in 2003, Maxwell gathered letters, drawings, and messages from friends for Epstein’s 50th birthday—resulting in a 238-page "birthday book." This book has come under fire over the past few weeks as questionable messages from notable figures have resurfaced, including from Trump.2
One particular entry in the book, marked with Trump's notable signature, disturbingly described a "wonderful secret" shared between the two and noted that "enigmas never age," with a line drawing of a female body next to it. Amid growing suspicions and outrage regarding the insinuations within the poem, Trump has chosen to deny any wrongdoing or involvement—claiming it was a forgery—and leaving people completely in the dark.3
From photos to interviews, there’s no shortage of public information connecting Trump to Epstein. Attorney General Pam Bondi herself warned Trump that he was mentioned multiple times in the Epstein documents. So what are Republicans hiding in the files, and what don’t they want the American public to see?
It doesn't stop there. Recently, Bloomberg reviewed 18,000 emails allegedly from Epstein's private account, shedding further light into the relationship Epstein had with co-conspirator Maxwell, who the Trump administration has been cozying up to over the past few months. Maxwell was convicted and sentenced to 20 years for her role in recruiting, grooming, and participating in Epstein's sex trafficking ring.4
In one email, it appears as if Epstein is asking Maxwell to remove Trump's name from a list of politicians and business leaders, though the context of the request is not clear.5
The more information that comes out, the more questions surface. The answers may very well be in the court files, if only Congress would release them.
Epstein continued to harm young girls and women for decades because the rich and powerful looked away. And they are still doing it—covering up for whatever and whoever is in those files.
Together, we can make sure that the truth is exposed and that the guilty are held accountable. Add your name to the petition, and send a clear message to Trump and Republicans that we refuse to be distracted.
Thanks for all you do.
