Friend, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to you.
My name is Mike Rounds, and I’m a proud, lifelong South Dakotan.
I was born in Huron, South Dakota, and graduated from South Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science, which laid the foundation for my commitment to public service.
Before entering public service, I built a successful insurance and real estate business with offices across South Dakota, giving me a deep appreciation for the hardworking people who build small businesses that drive our economy.
But, Friend, the driving forces in my life are simple: my faith and my family.
As the eldest of 11 children, I’ve always been deeply rooted in family values.
Today, I live in Fort Pierre, South Dakota, where I’m blessed to be a father to four grown children and a grandfather to 11 grandchildren, who inspire me to fight for the next generation every day.
Friend, I’m honored to serve South Dakota as a Conservative voice in the U.S. Senate and look forward to continuing to work on your behalf.
Just in the past few months, I’ve worked to confirm President Trump’s cabinet nominees, pass the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act, and deliver the largest tax cut for the working class in American history. This is just the beginning of what we can accomplish with a strong Republican Senate Majority and President Trump in the White House.
