Friend,

This is a major shift in congressional leaders' approach to climate policy.

Big news this week: The House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis just released a thorough report on how the U.S. can defeat the climate crisis and rebuild our economy. We're thrilled to see it, for one, because it marks a major shift in congressional leaders' approach to climate policy. Better yet, it includes policy ideas we put forward in our Evergreen Action Plan.

Here's the breakdown:

At over 500 pages, the Select Committee's plan is a roadmap for an all-out mobilization of the federal government -- one that engages multiple departments to fight the climate crisis and create a just, resilient clean energy economy.

The plan includes stringent standards for getting us to 100% clean energy. It's built with the agenda and demands for action we've been calling for from the start, going back to the beginning of Jay Inslee's presidential run.

Momentum is on our side like never before -- we can't let this moment pass us by. Chip in $25 to Evergreen Action now to fund the movement for an all-out mobilization to defeat the climate crisis!

Our work -- the work that you and hundreds of thousands of Americans have stepped up to support -- is found in every corner of this report. It shows the power of our ideas and our people, through recommendations like:

Federal incentives to drive state and local building codes to achieve all new zero-emission buildings by 2030
An Equity Screen for all major federal policy actions to determine how a potential project or policy would impact environmental justice and equity
A Green Bank to promote clean energy investment

It's clear that the committee has been listening to organizations like ours and heard widespread calls for bold climate action, particularly during the Democratic primary. But with Republicans running the Senate, the recommendations face a long and uncertain road in D.C.

The success or failure of the committee's recommendations will hinge largely on the continued strength of our advocacy. There's lots more work ahead, and we can't afford to lose steam.

Donate to Evergreen Action today so we can keep pushing bold climate action to the top of America's agenda!
