As the only official PDA-endorsed candidate, this endorsement is sure to bring national attention to this pivotal race in California. And more than ever, it serves as a reminder that for all of California’s victories, too many groups are still being left behind under our last several administrations.
Too often in California, we haven’t had voices in the decision-making rooms with lived experience to offer the “extra” to the plans to make them work.
From speaking up for non-native speakers about a bussing program as a child, to fighting for her parents and other small business families at the Board of Equalization, to recovering billions of dollars for senior citizens, and even keeping Donald Trump from drilling off California’s coastline, Betty has shown firsthand what we’re capable of when we tirelessly fight for fairness and integrity.
And with fights like keeping ICE out of our communities and establishing programs like universal healthcare still lying ahead, it’s so important that we have the right leader like Betty to drive home our progressive ideals.
That’s why Betty is the ONLY Democrat endorsed by Progressive Democrats of America in this race.
