me as an actor or as a bit of a troublemaker in Washington for, well,
decades. And I’m proud to still be at it.
There’s a lot of noise in politics these days, but when you find someone
like my dear friend California Attorney General Rob Bonta, you pay
attention.
Rob and I have been in the climate fight together for some time now, and I
can say with my whole heart he’s exactly the kind of leader I had in mind
when I launched the Jane Fonda Climate PAC: someone who listens to their
community, stands up to powerful polluters, and never hesitates to put
people over profits.
His office has brought some of the most historic lawsuits against oil and
gas giants to date — holding them accountable for decades long campaigns
of deception that have hurt our communities.

When it comes to people who abuse their power and put our communities at
risk, Rob doesn’t look the other way. He takes them on.
His office filed a groundbreaking lawsuit against some of the biggest oil
companies in the world — ExxonMobil, Shell, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, and
BP — along with the American Petroleum Institute. For decades they lied to
the public, covered up the truth about climate change, and put their
profits above our health and the health of our planet.
Rob is making sure these polluters finally answer for violating the law
and lying to the public.
And while Trump and his MAGA allies work overtime to dismantle hard-fought
solutions to the climate crisis, Rob unleashed a flurry of lawsuits over
their attempts to freeze federal climate funding, halt offshore wind
projects, and dismantle California’s environmental safeguards.
That’s what makes him different: As Attorney General, Rob isn’t just
calling out Donald Trump and Big Oil — he’s dragging them into places
where they can finally be held accountable.
But no one, not me, not even someone as fearless as Rob can do this work
alone. It will take all of us rolling up our sleeves, joining the fight,
and chipping in what we can to protect this seat from whoever Republicans
throw into this race.
