You and I can take pride in the bold, progressive agenda we advanced, even though the outcome fell short of our expectations. Every bit of energy you expended over the last 17 months brought us closer to the future we deserve.

I called John Hickenlooper last night to offer my congratulations and my full support in his race against Cory Gardner. I hope you’ll join me in that important effort.

Losing my dad this week reminded me that there are far more important things than losing an election. I’d trade every race I ever won to have him back.
