John,
Since its founding in 1965, Head Start has given 38 million children a chance to thrive.
Head Start helps parents become their child’s first and best teacher, equipping them with essential parenting skills to encourage curiosity and actively nurture kids’ development.
Just ask Hafeezah, SCAN’s South Carolina State Manager. Curious and bold, her 4-year-old son was a firecracker who struggled in group settings – until their family found Head Start.
“The teachers welcomed us with open arms, patience, encouragement and understanding,” Hafeezah says. “Through hands-on activities, playful learning and songs… I watched my son blossom.”
This week, our volunteer leaders are gathering in Washington D.C. for our 2025 National Leader Training – an opportunity to connect with fellow leaders, take their voices all the way to Capitol Hill and tell lawmakers that Head Start matters.
Will you help our volunteer leaders advocate for Head Start? Tell your members of Congress: Head Start is essential. Step up to protect its future!
