Hi John,
The Perdue Rescue Trial has begun! This morning, one hundred advocates gathered outside the Sonoma County Superior Court in solidarity with Poppy, Ivy, Aster, and Azalea, four sick and injured chickens who were rescued from Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry slaughterhouse, and with Zoe Rosenberg, the DxE investigator who rescued them and is now facing years in jail for her compassion.
Trial is expected to last a month. As the prosecutors try to paint Zoe as a criminal, even a terrorist, we’ll be here to show the judge, the jury, the media, and the public the truth: that animals are being criminally abused on an unfathomable scale, that they deserve justice and respect, and that they have the right to be rescued.
From hiring experienced attorneys, to mobilizing hundreds of activists for court support, and coordinating a sophisticated communications team, it takes significant resources to maximize the impact of trial.

Monthly gifts of any size will be boosted by an additional $100 donation from a supporter. At $25+/month, you’ll also receive a limited edition Right to Rescue mug featuring animals at the heart of these trials.
We face an uphill battle. Judge Gnoss, who is presiding over the trial, has denied most of Zoe’s defenses as well as multiple media requests to allow cameras into the courtroom. Those in power are working hard to keep Perdue’s abuse in the dark. But they will not succeed. Throughout the trial, you can read daily court summaries on our Court Watch blog, follow UnchainedTV for live panel discussions of what's happening in trial, watch recap videos on Instagram, and get a detailed play-by-play by following the trial on X.
Our past trials have resulted in historic acquittals, transformative mainstream media coverage, government investigations into animal abusing corporations, and legal appeals that have the potential to make groundbreaking case law. The outcome of the Perdue Rescue Trial is still unknown, but I am confident that together, we can make it a win for the animals. Please become a monthly donor today.
With gratitude,
Almira
