Right now, working families in our community and across the country are struggling to make ends meet. The cost of groceries, housing, health care and child care keeps going up while the number of opportunities for working people keeps going down. While the cost of living skyrockets, Donald Trump and Republicans are only focused on imposing costly tariffs and giving massive tax breaks to billionaires, instead of supporting hardworking families. 

Here in the Inland Empire, we know firsthand that the rising cost of rent and housing has become a significant burden for families. That’s why I recently visited the National CORE Metro View affordable housing development in Rialto to highlight the importance of affordable housing in the Inland Empire.

I was proud to work with National CORE to introduce legislation that would ensure residents of affordable housing properties have access to the supportive services they need, helping to bring down costs and create opportunities so that hardworking families in the Inland Empire can thrive.

Too many hardworking people in our community are struggling to afford to keep a roof over their heads. I’ll keep working to bring down the cost of living and help make affordable housing a reality for everyone.
