Dear ACLU of Alaska supporter, A few weeks ago, the Palmer Superior Court ruled against us in the case we filed in 2024, challenging the Mat-Su Borough School District's (MSBSD) transgender bathroom policy. Even though it was a disheartening ruling, we are committed to protecting and defending equality for all Alaskans.
Last week, we filed an appeal with the Alaska Supreme Court. We are not done challenging the MSBSD's unconstitutional policy, and we will continue to fight for the rights of transgender students in Alaska. As this work continues, we applaud the bravery of our client and his parents for not backing down. Even as an elementary school student, our client knows that he's fighting for not only his rights but also the rights of other young Alaskans. We're honored to stand side by side with him and his family as we fight this legal battle. We will continue to share updates in the case as it continues. In solidarity, ACLU of Alaska |
