Hi John,
If you haven’t already, make sure you RSVP for Wednesday's virtual deportation defense training [[link removed]] . We will be joined by experts from Asian Law Caucus and the New York Civil Liberties Union for a special training on building community power to equip all of us to defend against unjust detentions and deportations.

We will walk through the alarming trend of ICE targeting Iranian nationals, ensure you know your rights under the law regardless of status, and explain how you can plug into or build community defense networks where you are. There will be Q&A with experts and key resources to take with you back to your community.
RSVP Here [[link removed]] Why are we leading this training?
The Trump administration has carried out a sweeping and aggressive immigration enforcement regime targeting Iranians at historic levels. As of July 2025 there are over 670 Iranians in ICE detention, with a major spike in arrests immediately following the June war on Iran—including long-term residents, students, and even elderly and vulnerable members of our community. The stories are chilling: loved ones picked up without warning, often by agents arriving in unmarked vehicles without judicial warrants, and deported with little or no chance to state their case before a judge.
[[link removed]] Every single arrest and deportation hurts the fabric of our communities. Families are left in the dark while many of these detentions are carried out without lawful warrants, access to an attorney, or other due process concerns. Some even face deportation to “third countries” besides the U.S. or Iran, where they have no ties or support, and often face grave danger.
We urge everyone to:
