So often we focus on national politics, but it’s our local elections that have the greatest impact on our daily lives. They decide our local tax rates, how our towns grow and develop, the quality of our streets and sidewalks, the strength of our schools, and the protection of our open spaces. |
This weekend, I campaigned with groups of volunteers across the state. Nothing energizes me more than being out on the doors helping our candidates and talking with voters. We’re seeing incredible energy as Democrats work together to knock on doors and have conversations in their communities.
This kind of grassroots work, talking with neighbors face to face, is how elections are won. Even in the digital age, canvassing is the most effective way to persuade and turn out voters. In municipal elections, which are often decided by just a few hundred votes, every conversation really does matter.
