Water shutoffs, factory farms, Chaco Canyon, and more.
John,
At Food & Water Action, we are fighting to create a healthy future for all. Like you, we want a world where everyone has safe food, clean drinking water and a livable climate. Here is some of the progress you are helping to make happen.
Three Easy Things You Can Do Right Now To Help Stop Water Shutoffs
The national health crisis has made one thing clear: Withholding water costs lives. Millions in the U.S. could have their water shut off. A new Guardian investigation found that water rates in a dozen cities have increased by an average of 80% since 2010, with two in five households struggling to pay for water — leaving millions of people with unaffordable water bills.
Public health depends on water access so people can wash their hands to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. It’s time to guarantee access to clean and affordable water for all, to keep our communities safe.
Thanks to thousands of supporters like you, the Interior Department extended the comment period on a plan to lease public land around the Chaco Canyon historical site for oil and gas drilling. Now take action to stop the plan for managing public lands and minerals in the Chaco region for good.
We’re inspired by our Planned Gift donors like Carrie Dike, “I have always looked to support organizations – like Food & Water Watch — that...share the same concerns...The least I can do is help financially support those groups that raise awareness and make things better.”
