John, I’ve been working in politics for almost 25 years. As a young legislator knocking doors in my district, housing was an issue even back then. And it’s only gotten worse.
On the campaign trail, I’ve heard from folks who can’t afford to live in their hometown due to rising costs, manufactured home residents who are being evicted, and people whose rent keeps getting raised.
It’s just not sustainable.
That’s why last week, I launched my state-wide housing tour starting in Bangor.
I’m hitting the ground running to hear from the Maine people affected by this issue and from municipal leaders, business owners, housing developers, contractors, and housing advocates who are working on solutions.
I look forward to hearing from people in every corner of Maine and listening to how we can solve this ever-growing problem. But first, I’d love to hear from you. How has Maine’s housing crisis affected you?
With decades of leadership under my belt, I believe I have what it takes to work across the aisle and deliver real solutions for Maine. And part of that solution is listening. John, will you take my Housing Survey today?
Thank you,
Hannah
