It’s Leader-Elect Melissa Provenzano from Tulsa – did you know the State Legislature is only in session from February to May? During the rest of the year, or interim, we’re in our districts, leading interim studies at the State Capitol, working on budget presentations and requests, and starting to draft bills for the next session. In short, the interim is where we get to spend the most time getting things done for and with our constituents.

Talking to constituents is how I first recognized the need for an expansion of insurance coverage for mammograms for women. Those conversations led to the bill we passed in a Republican supermajority, ensuring that women have access to the healthcare they need.
