Welcome to The Agenda (yea - THAT agenda), your weekly update on what's happening in the LGBTQ political world. Whatever you do, don’t forward it to Mike Pence. He doesn't need to know what we're planning! Forward it to a friend instead.

Overview: Mayor Pete tackles opioid addiction and mental health issues, a new candidate in Colorado and more.
FEEL THE PETE WAVE
Breaking news: Mayor Pete has just released a new plan to combat addiction and mental health in America. You can read the full plan here.
The plan uniquely covers a broad range of topics: nihilism in young voters, climate change and the systemic “crisis of despair”.
Part of the solution is creating conversations around complicated issues – like this recent campaign stop with NARAL.
No time to read the full plan? This brief video provides toplines:

COLORADO ROCKY
Big news in Colorado politics: former Governor John Hickenlooper has dropped out of the 2020 Presidential contest and into the U.S. Senate race.
As rumors about the changes began circulating last week, many contenders in the crowded field made it clear they would not be leaving the race.
Recent polling suggests that while Hickenlooper is a formidable opponent, he is not infallible. He polls the same as a generic Democrat, and recently commented he was “not cut out to be a Senator”.
Spotlight candidate Dan Baer is taking the news with good humor, offering to settle the primary the old fashioned way: via rodeo. Shoot us an invite, Dan! We look great in cowboy hats!

BIGOTS, BIGOTS EVERYWHERE
Despite the fact that no one asked, the Governor of Louisiana is running ads attacking reproductive rights and the transgender community.
A reminder: Louisiana has NEVER elected an openly LGBTQ state legislator, and has few LGBTQ office holders in the state.
Despite Louisiana’s Governor (or perhaps because of), newly endorsed Victory Fund candidate Evan Bergeron is running to add new representation. He's aiming to be first openly LGBTQ state legislator in the state's history. Read more about Evan’s historic run for office here.
STILL RUNNING
Another state on the verge of history? New Game Changer Bryce Bennett, running to be Montana Secretary of State. Read more about Victory Fund’s 12 new endorsements, including Bryce, here.
Looking for another sign that progress continues to march forward? The Texas State House – long considered a bastian of anti-equality legislation – is now in play.
If someone tells you campaigning is easy, don't believe them. Spend some time with Victory Fund candidate Hélène Vincent as she knocks doors and meets voters in her race for Boston City Council District 8.
