Will you let the EPA get away with allowing climate pollution
without restrictions?!

Dear NRDC
Activist,
The EPA’s public comment period on their
proposal to reverse a legal landmark finding that protects U.S.
residents from climate pollution and guts standards regulating
carbon dioxide emissions from vehicles ends on September 22.
Your name isn’t showing up in our records
as having submitted a comment — but this is a potentially
devastating moment in the climate fight, and we need your help!
Will you submit your comment today? ( [link removed] )
In case you missed it, let me catch you
up on what’s been happening:
* July 29: EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin
makes an announcement riddled with climate denialism, saying the
EPA wants to repeal the endangerment finding. This finding was
established in 2009 and legally requires the government to
protect us from climate change.
* August 1: The EPA opens a public comment period, allowing
people like you to weigh in. So far, over 28,000 NRDC members
have submitted a comment!
* August 19 - 21: The EPA holds public hearings. During these
hearings, 637 people spoke. Only 19 people supported rollbacks.
That means 97% of speakers want the EPA to protect against carbon
dioxide, methane, and other climate-busting pollutants.
And that brings me to today. Only one
week remains for you to have it on public record that you oppose
the Trump administration’s efforts to end protections from
harmful climate pollutants. Will you submit your comment before
it’s too late? ( [link removed] )
When you submit a public comment
supporting the endangerment finding and vital clean vehicle
standards, you’re helping us strengthen our legal case if the EPA
moves forward with this plan despite overwhelming opposition.
Submit My Comment ( [link removed] )
Thank you for your support. We couldn’t
do our work without you.
Sincerely,
Meredith Hankins

Submit a Public Comment to Stop the Trump Administration’s
Latest Attack on our Climate
The Trump administration’s EPA is attempting to reverse the
landmark legal finding that protects us from polluters who cause
climate change. Here’s what you need to know:
-That EPA decision, called the endangerment finding,
legally requires the government to protect people from
climate-busting pollutants that endanger our health, including
carbon dioxide, methane, and four others.
-This is a direct attack on EPA's authority to
protect us from climate change.
-Big polluters will make big bucks while the rest
of us pay the price for increasingly catastrophic climate
disasters fueled by their pollution.
This repeal isn’t a done deal. Submit an
urgent public comment to the EPA demanding they uphold their
agency’s mandate to protect us from climate pollution. ( [link removed] )

Dear NRDC Activist,
Even as record-breaking heat waves, floods, and wildfires
endanger much of the country, die-hard fossil fuel industry
allies in the Trump administration are determined to ignore
climate change in order to fatten the wallets of oil executives.
They are working to repeal the landmark endangerment finding,
which would undermine the EPA’s legal authority to tackle the
climate crisis.
This is illegal and cynical, and we will
see the Trump administration in court if they follow through.
Submit an urgent public comment opposing the Trump
administration’s efforts to repeal the endangerment finding and
end protections from climate-busting pollution. We can’t let this
happen. ( [link removed] )
Let me explain how we got here.
In 2009, the EPA found that carbon
dioxide, methane, and other climate-changing pollutants are
dangerous to our health and welfare. This finding, called the
endangerment finding, became the scientific and legal foundation
for Clean Air Act standards that cut climate pollution from some
of the dirtiest industries.
Fast forward to now. EPA Administrator
Lee Zeldin announced his plan to repeal the endangerment finding
once and for all. If his scheme is successful, then standards
that limit pollution from oil, gas, coal, and other dirty energy
sources could fall like dominos.
In fact, at the exact same time the EPA
announced their intentions to repeal the endangerment finding,
they also revealed their plans to gut standards limiting tailpipe
pollution from cars and trucks.
These standards have undeniably made our
air cleaner and safer — but instead of protecting our kids from
asthma attacks, the Trump administration has made it clear they
prefer to protect the interests of polluters.
Here’s the bottom line: Fringe climate
deniers have targeted the endangerment finding before, and the
courts have rejected every lawsuit attacking it. So we aren’t
afraid to take the EPA to court if we have to once again.
You can help us strengthen our legal case
by publicly supporting the endangerment finding and vital clean
vehicle standards.
Submit your public comment TODAY
reminding the EPA of their mandate to protect us from pollution
that fuels the climate crisis and threatens our health. ( [link removed] )
Sincerely,
Meredith Hankins
