Friends,

That chill in the air means the back-to-school rush is upon us, the leaves will soon begin to fall — and the homestretch of election season is upon us.

This might not feel like an election year to everyone, but we have a saying here at the NDRC: There are no off years for redistricting. That couldn’t be truer this year, as we’re beating back attacks on the right to vote like we haven’t seen since the Jim Crow era.

We’ve identified several critical state-level elections we believe will play a critical role in the future of our representative democracy:

-In Virginia, we’ve proudly endorsed Abigail Spanberger for governor. And we’re working to ensure Virginia’s House of Delegates has a pro-democracy majority, endorsing 44 Democracy Defenders to help protect against state-level gerrymandering and other anti-democracy measures we’re seeing in Republican-controlled state legislatures from Texas to Missouri.

-In Pennsylvania, we’re laser-focused on three state Supreme Court seats that will play a huge role in protecting this state’s firewall against unfairly gerrymandered districts in this critical battleground.

As the last few months have made abundantly clear, the fight for fair maps happens in these state-level elections. That’s why the NDRC has mounted a state-by-state strategy to protect our democracy. While most outsiders are already focused on the midterms, we’re working hard to ensure these 2025 elections go well for our democracy.

In this homestretch, will you step up with a generous donation to ensure the NDRC can fight for pro-democracy majorities? Your gift will ensure we can keep up our work in states across the country and win big in 2025 and beyond: [[link removed]]

From all of us at the NDRC, thank you for supporting our work in these critical months.

With gratitude,

Claire Low
Director of Political and Campaigns, National Democratic Redistricting Committee

Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters.
