While those concerns remain true, we wanted to take a moment to highlight how Democrats are working hard to counter the harmful effects of Trump and the GOP-led Congress's misplaced policy priorities.
The Closing the Meal Gap Act of 2025 Senator Gillibrand introduced the Closing the Meal Gap Act of 2025, which will expand and strengthen who qualifies for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Gillibrand's anti-hunger legislation is doing what Republicans won't — addressing some of the most pressing issues facing Americans today. This legislation not only raises the benefit amount for low-income families to keep up with inflation, but it also gives individuals with high medical costs and housing expenses access to the program.
The Medication Affordability and Patent Integrity Act Senator Maggie Hassan introduced the Medication Affordability and Patent Integrity Act to prevent large pharmaceutical companies from gaming the patent system to keep competitors from getting generic drugs to the market. Ultimately, this will ensure the availability of more affordable drug options to help lower the costs of prescription drugs for consumers.
The Federal Inquiry into the Nature and Documentation of Housing Loss Act U.S. Representative Angie Craig introduced the Federal Inquiry into the Nature and Documentation (FIND) of Housing Loss Act, which aims to combat the housing affordability crisis and help prevent hardworking Americans from losing their homes.John, there's a lot of uncertainty due to the chaos of this administration. However, we wanted to take a moment to remind you that there are still leaders in Congress who are fighting for everyday people and working families across the country.
