Hi, it’s Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia.
In redistricting, the 42nd is being redrawn to take on more Republican voters than any other district in California and includes portions of Orange County that Katie Porter represented in Congress.
The newly incorporated areas of our redrawn district were represented by a true fighter. Katie Porter refused to let corporate interests drown out the voices of working Californians and always put people first.
I may not have the whiteboard magic like Katie, but I’m just as committed to making sure you have more power in our government than the morally bankrupt billionaires cozying up to Trump.
Right now, I’m the leading Democrat on the House Oversight Committee — and as you’ve probably seen, we’re fighting like hell to hold Trump accountable for his Epstein cover-up.
But here’s the truth: The Trump Administration is corrupt as hell. Whether it’s Stephen Miller’s attacks on immigrants, Trump’s illegal use of our military in American cities, or his refusal to release the Epstein Files, we’ve seen what they are capable of. That means my role on the House Oversight Committee is more important than ever.
Trump already deployed the National Guard to Los Angeles in a retaliatory move against our governor.
This is a man who weaponizes our military against American citizens, simply because he can. In this moment, we cannot afford to back down — we have to keep our opposition strong, and our fight steadfast.
I’m grateful to have a district full of folks like you who refuse to sit back when our democracy is on the line.
