Hi there,
By the end of this month, Congress must reach an agreement to fund the government. And instead of working with Democrats to keep things running, Republicans are once again risking a shutdown.
The GOP doesn’t want to compromise. They want to use this funding bill to keep pushing their extreme MAGA agenda through Congress.
But here’s the reality: Republicans need Democratic votes to keep the government open. That gives us an opportunity to fight for the things that matter to our communities, like protecting access to healthcare and food assistance that families depend on. As a physician, I know how horrific the GOP’s healthcare cuts have been, and how hard we need to fight to undo them.
I’ll be on the House floor fighting for New Jersey every step of the way.
But we also need to show our strength outside of the Capitol at the end of this month. September 30 is this quarter’s FEC deadline, and we need to show that we’re ready to take on Republicans both at the negotiating table and on the campaign trail.
