John,
It's Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes. I need to tell you what's happening in Arizona's border communities.
Cartels are flying fentanyl into our state using drones.
They're not just coming through traditional smuggling routes anymore. They're using GPS coordinates to drop drugs from the sky, and our border communities are bearing the brunt of this escalating crisis.
Since I took office, my office has prosecuted cases involving nearly 22 million fentanyl pills and over 175 pounds of fentanyl powder — enough to kill more than 39 million people.
My office handles 85% of all lawsuits against Mexican drug cartels. I've hired a Fentanyl Strategist to coordinate our statewide response. I'm working with local, tribal, and federal partners every day. This is why I requested 50 additional DEA agents to help with the problem back in March.
And what did Trump do? He reassigned 60 of Arizona’s existing DEA agents to police Washington, D.C. residents — all for political theater.
Meanwhile, our border communities continue to face an unprecedented threat from the cartels. Arizona families are losing loved ones every single day to this poison. That’s why I worked with a bipartisan group of legislators to pass legislation allowing local law enforcement to shoot down cartel drones. But we shouldn't have to wage this battle with fewer federal agents.
I'm demanding that Trump return our DEA agents immediately. Will you add your voice to mine?
Sign our petition demanding that Trump return the 60 DEA agents he pulled from Arizona:
I'll keep taking the cartels to court and standing up for border communities — but I need your voice in this effort.
Thank you,
Kris
