Before the moment of Congressional silence for Kirk had reached the five second mark, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert abruptly interrupted to demand that the Speaker change the format to a spoken prayer
John,
The day after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, House Speaker Mike Johnson held a moment of silence on the House floor.
Before the moment of silence had reached the five second mark, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) abruptly interrupted to demand that the speaker change the format to a spoken prayer and let her give the speech yelling, “Silent prayers get silent results.”
Following Boebert’s lead, far-right Congresswoman Anna Paulina-Luna chimed in to fan the flames yelling at the Democrats present on the house floor saying, “Y’all caused this.”
In response, Republicans and Democrats alike booed the two, and a House Republican who Politico granted anonymity stated, “This is disgusting.”
But Boebert’s rampage didn’t end there. When Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) gave an interview with critiques of Kirk’s extreme policy stances, Boebert took the opportunity to lash out against the Congresswoman saying that the Congresswoman would do well to go back to Africa.
Ironically, when Colorado Public Radio reached out to Boebert about rising political violence, she stated, “We come here to serve and make a difference and deliver on the promises that we made, not to hate people.”
Despite what Lauren’s pal Anna Paulina Luna says, Democrats are not the cause of America’s spiraling political violence. But it is inflamed by people like Luna and Boebert who instead of trying to calm tensions launch vengeful attacks.
