John,
On Monday, in a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court cleared the way for sweeping immigration operations in Los Angeles. The ruling lifts limits on roving stops that a federal judge said swept up even U.S. citizens.
Supreme Court lifts restrictions on LA immigration stops set after agents swept up US citizens

Here’s what that means: federal agents can proceed with broad stops while the case continues, and officials are already promising to “flood the zone.” Our communities are bracing for more raids, fear, and mistakes that hurt working families.
I grew up here in the Central Valley as the son of immigrant parents who worked hard to build a better life. I know what it feels like when families are treated like suspects just because of where they come from, or the language they speak. It’s wrong. It tears at our communities and betrays the promise of this country.
And let’s be clear: this isn’t just about Los Angeles.
If these tactics are allowed there, nothing stops them from spreading across California and reaching right into our neighborhoods in the Central Valley. That is why it is so important we speak out together, right now.
I’ve talked to kids who remember their parents being taken away. I’ve spoken to farmworkers who won’t report wage theft because they’re afraid of being asked about their status.
That fear doesn’t keep us safe – it pushes people further into the shadows.
If you agree, add your name to condemn this ruling and demand protections for our neighbors in California and across the country:
Thank you,
Randy
