ACTION SPOTLIGHT

Defend Marine Mammals from Unprecedented
Legislative Attacks

Congress is back in session, and
unbelieveably they’re considering gutting life-saving protections
and research for dolphins, whales, and other imperiled marine
mammals — all to exploit even more of our offshore waters for
profit.

If these threats prevail, more
vulnerable marine life will be killed or injured by entanglements
in fishing gear, boat strikes, and other disturbances like
deafening seismic blasting for offshore oil drilling.

We can’t stand by and let these
defenseless creatures perish while corporate polluters get richer
— help us raise a massive public outcry.

Join your voice with thousands of
people across the country who are speaking out in defense of
marine mammals. ( [link removed] )

CAMPAIGN UPDATE

We Won’t Stop Fighting Rollbacks on
Pollution Standards

Since Day 1, the Trump administration has
announced staggering plans to repeal or weaken dozens of crucial
standards that protect public health and address the climate
crisis. But NRDC and members like you have fought back.

When the EPA recently proposed
removing all carbon pollution standards and weakening Mercury and
Air Toxic Standards (MATS) for dirty coal- and gas-fired power
plants, more than 25,000 NRDC supporters like you spoke out by
submitting public comments. Thank you for fighting dangerous
plans that would worsen climate change, fuel more extreme weather
events, and cause more health problems for us all.

Now, the Trump administration’s EPA is
threatening to repeal a landmark legal finding that requires the
government to protect us from climate-busting pollution. Their
proposal would also gut standards limiting carbon pollution from
cars and trucks.

But if the EPA moves forward, NRDC is
ready to take them to court.

You can help strengthen our legal case
by submitting a public comment to oppose this dangerous plan.
Don’t wait — the comment deadline is September 22. ( [link removed] )

LITIGATION UPDATE

NRDC Sues MN Department of Agriculture
for Not Regulating Toxic Neonics

NRDC and the Minnesota Center for
Environmental Advocacy filed a lawsuit against the Minnesota
Department of Agriculture for failing to regulate pervasive use
of harmful neonic pesticide coatings on crop seeds. These toxic
coatings leach into our ground and surface water and soil,
threatening human health and harming bees, butterflies, birds,
and other pollinators that we depend on for our food supply. Read

DEEP DIVE

World’s Largest Intact Temperate Forest
at Risk Once Again

Do you know where the biggest intact
temperate rainforest is located? It’s right here in the U.S. —
and NRDC has spent a decade protecting it from destructive
roadbuilding and logging. But this rainforest and other forested
public lands are under threat again if the Trump administration
repeals the Roadless Rule. Read more > ( [link removed] )

ACTION ROUNDUP

Administration’s Attacks: ( [link removed] ) While NRDC’s legal team considers options to fight back against
threats to our national forests, we need your help telling the
