Lew Rockwell and Jeff Deist will host, along with guests like Tom Woods, Paul Cantor, Joe Salerno, David Gordon, Michael Boldin, and Patrick Newman (the skilled young editor of Rothbard’s Progressive Era and final volume of Conceived in Liberty). Plus we’ve asked some notable VIP speakers to join us, names we can’t reveal just yet...
In 1944 Mises was at the height of his brilliance. He had just published Bureaucracy and Omnipotent Government, and just warned the world what Bretton Woods might bring. His insights into money, banking, gold, war, fascism, Russia, and international trade all seemed incredibly accurate at the end of WWII. With the help of men like Henry Hazlitt and Leonard Read, Mises was a rising star as an émigré in America, and he certainly didn’t disappoint his audience in Los Angeles.
We’ll kick off on Friday, October 25, with a gala reception and dinner at the beautiful Biltmore Los Angeles. Saturday, we meet for breakfast and sessions at the beautiful, private California Club, the site of Mises’s speech to the National Association of Manufacturers. Saturday evening you can enjoy cocktails and dinner with Lew Rockwell at the 1928 Art Deco Cicada Club, followed by dancing to Rothbard’s favorite music with a live jazz band. And Sunday morning we’ll conclude with a casual brunch at the Biltmore.
