Good Morning,
The Diana Harshbarger for Congress Campaign is currently searching for middle school, high school, and college students who are eager to learn about grassroots political campaigning and public service. Student interns will gain knowledge about the political process and learn to become adept communicators through hands-on experience with Diana and her campaign in Tennessee's First Congressional District.
These internship opportunities are open to any eligible students and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Previous campaign experience is helpful, but not required. Responsibilities and assignments will be age-appropriate. Hours are flexible, but students must be able to commit to at least 5 hours per week. This internship will take place at the following location:
Sullivan County
Kingsport Office
109 Jack White Drive
Kingsport, TN
There will be a remote component due to COVID-19 and when in person will be adhering to social distancing measures. Eligible students can be provided with academic credit, service hours, or simply a unique learning experience. While these positions begin unpaid, there are opportunities for advancement including the potential for part-time employment. Upon completion of the program, a letter of recommendation to a future employer or college will also be provided.
Interns are expected to assist the campaign with:
- Headquarters Management
- Community Outreach Activities
- Social Media Outreach
- Grassroots Voter Contacts
- Recruiting and Organizing Volunteers
- Event Planning: Parades and Festival Coverage
Thank you!
Team Diana
