Email from American Values Resources for pastors and values voters. Fighting For Faith, Family & Freedom Saturday, September 13, 2025 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary Bauer Friends, the challenges we face are enormous. To defend our values, we are partnering with various allies, including Lindsey Communications, The Lindsey Foundation, Faith Wins and the Pacific Justice Institute to empower the resurgence of the Church vote. Below is their latest alert. Please share the resources included here with your church leaders and fellow worshippers. – Gary The Church Finds Its Voice A Coalition of Lindsey Communications, The Lindsey Foundation, Faith Wins and the Pacific Justice Institute to Empower the Resurgence of the Church Vote! "What you are about to read and watch came before the horrific events of September 10th. Our comments still stand, but they are now colored with extraordinary sadness over the untimely and horrific death of God’s precious servant, Charlie Kirk." COMM 65 Taken Aback, Then Taken Back Update: When the Church Speaks Its Mind, Government reacts. A few weeks ago, we asked for your voice to be raised to the California legislature in strongly opposing an appalling bill, AB495. Thousands of you called, emailed, and showed up at a rally in Sacramento. Poorly written, but demonic in its potential, this law would have been, and may still be, an utter evil. Here is an update to tell you where it is now, and what happened after you spoke up: COMM 65 VIDEO To Read Joan's Video Message, here is it below: The intersection of faith and politics isn’t so much an intersection as it is an overlap. Our nation’s Constitution, being sourced from the Bible, is a document all about our collective faith in God directing every law that is made. We wish. It used to be that way. It was our founding plan for national life. Then around 1962 our Supreme Court ordered the Church out of life, just like your Dad ordered a salesman off the front porch. And the Church stayed out for a long time, until a few years ago when the voice of pastors and believers rose again. As they should do, and are supposed to do. After all, the country hasn’t done so well without those voices. The moral side of life has melted into a sort of blob. How blobby? Here’s an example… so if our nation’s majority view has been that abortion is ok, even many think late term is ok, then what about this story just out about a young cheerleader who gave birth and her dead baby was found in her closet wrapped in a towel and inside a bag? Everybody is shocked. Considers it immoral. But so…what is the moral difference between that and late term abortion? We can share a million and one stories of moral confusion like this, across every moral question. Do we even know, any more, how to decide right from wrong? Without the Church, we don’t and so we come up against California’s egregious AB 495. It matters to you because if California passes it, you’ll get it sooner or later and there will go the safety of your kids. AB 495, which will allow anyone to take your kids away if they claim they can’t find you, and that they are a ‘mentor’, is thinly framed as helping illegals’ kids. But it doesn’t help. Anybody. It does open your kids to a demonic den of evil actors, all in the name of the law. Last time, we told you this thing was afoot, and asked for your voice. Which you gave. You rallied, you called, you emailed. And these morally confused legislators were taken aback, and they took it back. Back for five minutes, then brought it back out and they are ‘amending’ it. Oh spare me. What next? Whatever happens next, they have reacted to the Big Voice of many many people saying their proposed law is wrong. Morally wrong. You knew it was immoral, and this knowledge is right now freshly attractive, newly valuable, and suddenly on everybody’s wish list…that somebody knows what is moral. The media rarely knows. They want a story, emotion, fear, and ratings. Goodness, please don’t look to them to say what is moral. They have aided and abetted these kinds of legislators in the name of compassion, yet it’s not compassionate at all to endanger kids and elbow aside parents. Brad asks if the very definition of crime has gone blobby. Uh yes, it has. Street crime is wild right now. Encino California was beautiful. Three of our kids lived there until their house got broken into - robbed and trashed. They moved. Encino is in the news again as residents are petrified after an American Idol executive and her husband were murdered in their home in Encino. This is what Defund the Police has helped along. Who thought that was a good idea anyway? And now terrified Encino is begging for more police, as are scads of other cities. You are needed to define morals for us. Just as your voice made California’s legislature take a step back with an evil bill, your voice can exhort for Godly bills. Laws in step with moral governance. Votes for people who ‘get’ morality. Research proves that as government shrinks, private efforts grow. As Trump tightens government overbloat, Churches and communities…individuals and families will fill the gap. It’s a proven thing. It’s your time to message through media, dial your congressperson, email the House and Senate, and call your city council. Most of all we have to vote, all of us. Only half of us are voting. That’s why we got an AB495. We all love our kids and would be devastated if they were carjacked, robbed, stabbed. As crime has exploded so are the chances of your kids being hurt. Use your voice to take our kids back from harm, and exhort for Biblical morality in our nation once again. This President has given us a good start. ______________________________________________________________ Sermon Showcase (Sermon Resource Credit: David Barton, WallBuilders Inc.)
